As a favor for making these videos accessible to all, we ask that you please complete a short evaluation for each session you watch. Click this LINK for the recorded session evaluation. Your feedback will help us improve our offerings for the upcoming year.

Agreeing to Disagree: The Role of Bias in the Process of Compromise by Diverse Groups
*As a favor for making these videos accessible to all, CLICK THIS LINK FOR THE RECORDED SESSION EVALUATION. Your feedback will help us improve our offerings for the upcoming year.

Although individuals with strong biases and prejudices can sometimes be problematic, those same individuals who also possess a willingness to  see the other side, are the most effective in helping diverse groups come to solutions that are the most creative and productive.  How do we stay passionate and diligent in our beliefs and still come to effective compromise when working with others who differ greatly from us?  Can we agree to disagree and find the solutions to problems we face together?

1.     Participants will discover the development of bias/prejudice in themselves and others and the role it plays as diverse groups struggle to find solutions together.
2.     Participants will explore the nature of conflict and how that understanding enhances the process of creating  and implementing programs with diverse groups of people.
3. Participants will practice communication strategies and techniques that encourage compromise and implement positive solutions.
